From one photo to a full grid
Instagram shows your profile as 3 posts across, each a 3:4 rectangle. Cut a photo to that shape and post the pieces in order, and the grid shows the whole picture.
- 1
Frame the photo
Pick how many posts the picture spans, then drag and zoom until the lines fall where you want them. Keep faces and words away from the lines.
- 2
Download the posts
Every tile is named after its posting number. On a phone, save each one straight to your photos.
- 3
Post them in order
Post 1 goes up first and the highest number last. Instagram puts the newest post top left, so the picture comes together on the last post.
Instagram grid sizes
Every post is 1,080 × 1,440 pixels (3:4). For full-size posts, start from a photo at least this big.

| 3 | 3 × 1 | 1,080 × 1,440 | 3,240 × 1,440 | 9:4 |
| 6 | 3 × 2 | 1,080 × 1,440 | 3,240 × 2,880 | 9:8 |
| 9 | 3 × 3 | 1,080 × 1,440 | 3,240 × 4,320 | 3:4 |
