Every network has its own rules
A file that works on one network can be turned down on the next. This is what is particular about each one.
A post carries photos, one video or one PDF, never a mix. A PDF shows as a document people swipe through.
X
Photos of any ratio are accepted and GIFs keep playing. The video file limit is the standard one; Premium accounts can upload larger files.
TikTok
A post is one video or a photo carousel, never both. TikTok can hold an account to a shorter video length than the limit shown here.
YouTube
Shorts are vertical videos. A wider video is published as a regular YouTube video instead of a Short.
Page posts take photos and long videos. Reels and stories are vertical video, and a story fits a photo into the vertical frame for you.
Feed posts take portrait, square and landscape photos within a fixed range of ratios, and portrait fills the most of the feed. A single video in a feed post goes out as a reel. Stories fit a photo into the vertical frame for you.
Threads
Photos and videos of almost any shape are accepted, and portrait fills the most of the feed.
A pin is one image, a video pin is one video, and a carousel needs at least two images.
Bluesky
A post takes photos or one video, never both. Foliwo shrinks photos under Bluesky’s own size cap before posting, so large photos still go through.
Mastodon
Each server can set its own limits, so yours may allow larger files. GIFs keep playing.
Telegram
Photos, videos and GIFs go out in one message. The file limits are Telegram’s limits for files sent from a link, lower than what the app itself takes.
Discord
Photos, videos and GIFs go into the channel you pick, and GIFs keep playing.
Google Business Profile
An update takes one photo and no video. Google turns down photos under 250 px on a side.
